In what seems to be one of the oddest creations ever made, student Aden Shank has turned an Altoids tin into a portable Wii system. Shank was able to convert the Altoids tin into a working version of the Wii by inserting the console’s circuitry into the tin. He later added controls, such as what appears to be analog sticks, on top of the tin, despite Wii remotes still being able to connect to the device....

The scientists say the red snow that has been visible near the Vernadsky Research Base—located on Galindez Island off the Antarctic’s coast—in the last few weeks is caused by a type of algae known as Chlamydomonas nivalis.
