There are a couple options for players to get water in Stranded Deep, with the more sustainable ones often requiring more materials and such. It is recommended that players start simple and only attempt the better water storage options once they are more established and in less immediate danger of dying.

Coconuts and Quwawa Fruit - Stranded Deep
The easiest way to get water early on is through the coconut. Coconuts can be found in trees on many islands, and have a myriad of uses. For one, they don’t spoil, meaning the player can stockpile them should they choose. Hacking open a coconut with a knife will make it drinkable, and then from there the coconut can be broken in two with an axe to be eaten. Beyond this, some islands will spawn with Quwawa berries which, when eaten, refill both hunger and thirst. These berries do spoil quickly, but they can be planted and are therefore renewable.
Water Still - Stranded Deep
The Water Still is currently the best method for creating a more sustainable source of water. To craft it, players will need one lashing, which can be crafted, three rocks, which are found all throughout islands, and one tarp, which though there’s a limited supply can be found in abundance. After crafting it, the Water Still will fill with water overtime, capable of holding five drinks of water. With an open hand, the player can drink directly from the water still, but there are other options to store water as well.
Water Storage - Stranded Deep
There are several options for players that wish to store water and still be able to transport it. The first is by creating a coconut flask, which can be crafted simply with a lashing and a coconut. The coconut flask can be refilled with water, capable of holding only one drink.
A leather waterskin can be made with a tanning rack, two pieces of leather, and a wood stick, and provides a more sustainable solution, capable of holding three drinks. Finally, players should eventually invest the time to make a clay bottle, which can hold five drinks, and is crafted with one lashing, two clay, and the furnace. This recipe is difficult to make but offers the best solution for storing drinkable water in Stranded Deep.
Stranded Deep is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
