The first question he got was something all Simmons fans (including me) have been wondering for months: Is he done with writing in favor of television and podcasting?
Never fear, said Simmons. He will be writing NBA columns for his new web site, The Ringer, this season.
“I’m going to make a mini-comeback. (Editor-in-chief) Sean Fennessey at The Ringer has been asking where my column is. It’s coming back at some point,” Simmons told viewers on Facebook.
It’s a smart move by Simmons.
His column is his bread and butter. Why not give his fans what they want while he tries to straighten out his TV show?

Viewership for Wednesday night’s “Any Given Wednesday” set a premier telecast low, according to the deadly accurate @SportsTVRatings. But HBO argues the final numbers end up much higher since many viewers either tape the show or watch it on-demand.
Simmons also mused about a possible reunion with ESPN’s Jalen Rose, his former “NBA Countdown” colleague and a frequent podcast guest.
Simmons even said there’s been a “thawing” in his relationship with ESPN, who he blasted in a Hollywood Reporter profile.
