As with many items in Subnautica: Below Zero, players are going to need to search specific biomes to find any Young Cotton Anemones. Once discovered, the next step is figuring out what kind of tool is required to harvest it. Finally, making it back to base or the Seatruck with the items so they can be stored or used is often the real challenge.

Young Cotton Anemones are found exclusively in the Deep Lilypad Caves biome, but thankfully they don’t require any tools to harvest. The easiest way to find this biome is to go to the marker for Pilot Last Known Position. From here, head West-Northwest for about 100 meters. At this point, players need to dive deep down to a depth of about 480 meters before they will be able to see these small, white plants. Simply approach the plants and use the action button to harvest Young Cotton Anemones. Since these only take up one space in the inventory, players should be able to carry quite a few.
In order to reach this area, players are almost certainly going to need the Seatruck. Getting to the Pilot Last Known Position signal without one is hard enough thanks to the hostile fauna, but players won’t have much luck trying to dive 480 meters down even with an upgraded oxygen tank, and that’s not even considering the trip back up. Even the Seatruck can’t handle those depths without some upgrades, so players will need to fabricate Depth Upgrade Mk 2 before making the trip.
With the Young Cotton Anemones, players can make Hydrochloric Acid. From here, this item can be used to fabricate things like Polyaniline, which is a vital resource for many vehicle upgrades. This item is required to craft the Prawn Suit Thermal Reactor and the Seatruck Perimeter Defense Upgrade, and players will even be able to use it to upgrade their fins.
